Some other definitions?
Domain name is given to describe a website. All
websites are actually accessed by computers via a number system. For example,
a computer may actually read www.yourcompany.com as 128.9.205.99. The domain name
was invented because people can generally remember a name more easily than a string
of numbers.
Intranet is simply a network
within a company or organisation on which you can host local information or even
sites. You can use this intranet to work online with an internal audience of co-workers,
fellow group members or colleagues. It also allows you to post commonly requested
information and allows an easy method for distributing information within a company.
